The 4th largest city in Poland is a city of vibrance. Due to its history merging a variety of cultures and religions the city is a real microcosm, built on 12 islands linked by more than a hundred bridges.
The skyline there is marked with the church spires and towers.
The plain concrete blocks neighbour the most stunning architectural buildings.
The students have the grandest university buildings and yet a sculpture of a naked swordsman in the uni square.
Only in this City tiny gnomes busy with all sort of activities can be found hiding in the most unusual places.
Travel to Poland and meet Wroclaw – the city where you can buy your lover a flower at any time in the charming flower market open 24/7 then you can stroll towards the Tumski Bridge crossing the River Odra and put a lock on your love....
Book into one of the many hotels or apartments and stroll around one of the largest market squares in Europe and stop for refreshment in one of the many restaurants that surround it. For an excellent Italian meal with a stunning view of the square from its first floor tables try  ‘Novocaina’ a truly memorable experience.
Wroclaw is host to many spectacular churches. In the corner of the Market Square is St Elizabeth’s Church with its gothic tower 91.5 meters tall. If you feel fit enough to climb the steps to the top your reward is one of the best views of the city.
If you want a shopping experience, the Old Town is a good starting place some of the most popular boutiques and galleries are in this area. For a more modern shopping experience the three floor Galeria Dominikanska is only a short walk from the centre.
To appreciate some of the charm of this wonderful city take a walk along the banks of the River Odra, and cross some of its bridges, perhaps leave a ‘love lock’ on the Tumski Bridge before you reach elegant Ostrow Tumski and the St John’s the Baptist Cathedral. Nearby are the restful Botanical Gardens.
Wroclaw is also host to many outdoor concerts, one of our favourites the ‘Thanks Jimi Festival’ founded by Leszek Cichonski and featuring many stars of the Polish rock scene playing the music of Jimi Hendrix.
It will soon become evident while you holiday in Wroclaw why it has been chosen to be ‘European City of Culture 2016’
There are many more attractions in this stunning city to suit all your holiday requirement
